How to create a Gmail account

Having a Gmail account helps you in many ways. It lets you send and receive messages like other emails, but most importantly, you get access to Google Drive when using a Gmail account. Steps to create a Gmail account

• In the web browser, type in www.gmail.com
• You can also click on the link to go to the Gmail sign-up page
• Type in your first and last name on the fields provided. Please note that you can use upper and lower case to key in the name.
• Select a username for your Gmail account. You can create your own username or select one from the options you get. If the username you choose is already taken, you need to look for an alternative. Make sure the username you choose for your Gmail account is unique. 
• Create a password and then re-type the same password in both the boxes of the password field. Be careful when you type your password; it should be exactly what you entered the first time. In the event of any error, you will get a pop-up saying the password does not match. We suggest you keep a note of the password and then enter it in the field. Most importantly, the password you choose for your Gmail account should be a minimum of eight characters. To make a strong password, choose something hard to guess, like a mix of numbers, symbols, and letters.
• Tick on show password and see the password once.
• Once you click on confirm, you will be redirected to another page where you need to enter your phone number.
• Next, type in an existing email address, which will be used as a recovery email address. In case you don't have any email id, you can also type the email id of someone you can access. It is useful in case you forget your email address or password.
• Next, type in your date of birth and gender and click on next.
• On the next screen that comes up, you need to verify your phone number. Check the number and click on send. Make sure the phone is recharged because the SMS code you get is chargeable. If you still do not receive the code on your phone, dial the Gmail support number and speak to an expert.
• Once you get the code, type in the G-Code and click on Verify. 
• On the next page, you see a tab that says, "Yes, I'm in." Click on that tab.
• Next, you get a page of terms and conditions from Google. Simply click agree
